Crochet Cat Harness

100% cotton, handmade harness for cats. Made to order with custom measurements.

These harnesses are super soft and comfy for kitty. They won't pull on the neck and shift any leash-pull to the sternum. With any harness, your cat may take time to get used to it. I made this design with love and all the experience of someone who has trained their cat to go everywhere - from mountains to pet stores.

Measurement Information:

This item requires measurements. First, measure around the widest part of your cat's head. This is to ensure the harness fits over the head and isn't too tight on the neck. Second, measure their torso right under their little armpits. The harness needs to sit here so they can't get their arms out.

If you don't have a measuring tape, you can use a piece of string and a ruler (as pictured.)

Please see the listing photos for how to measure your cat properly. I do add an extra button to tighten the harness if need-be. So don't worry if kitty is resisting a bit when you measure.

Safety Information: 

When I trained my cat years ago, cat harnesses weren't widely available. So, I used a dog harness and she got out of it on our first walk. A dog started barking and she ran. I waited in the spot she ran from all night in the cold until i saw her and grabbed her. It was awful. From that point forward, I've been incredibly particular about the harnesses I get for her and, sometimes, this has meant not being able to find one at all. Figure 8 is the best, but hard to find and can sometimes dig into their sensitive throat area.

I made these harnesses to solve all of these problems. They are made with utmost love and consideration. I don't use more-than-one color so I can use one, unbroken piece of yarn for the whole thing and over-sewn buttons as closures so they won't pull fur. That said, I still cant guarantee something won't happen or your cat won't get out. Some cats are escape artists.

Now, I'm saying this to limit my liabiity should any issues arrise. However, I WILL have trouble sleeping if I find out your cat got out of the harness and ran off. So, PLEASE, know your cat and train them in a safe space before taking them outside.
